ROsenbaum Heaster Art glass series

Installed in 2001, the Heaster Residence stained glass project is a unique fusion of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design.

Measuring 48” x 9’4”, the piece is mounted on a hidden rolling track that allows it to glide along the wall and conceal a television screen tucked into a custom wall opening. Inspired by the organic forms of architect Santiago Calatrava, artist Andy Young designed a stainless steel fin-shaped frame, crafted by local artisan Rick Craft. The glass features innovative techniques using rare French Emaille and Bariollis glass, with a glue-splatter resist and sandblasting method that reveals layered colors and textures.
