Over time some ideas become irresistible to a creative person. Being from a long Mississippi tradition of having to make do with what one has is a part of it, too. The Flow Bowl Project grew out of the necessity of finding a way to use obsolete inventory of clear, tempered commercial sheet glass. When tempered glass breaks it is reduced to a pile of pieces the size of pea gravel. The Flow Bowl is the outcome of a year of experimentation of firing this in our kilns. Each flow bowl is one of a kind and captures the spirit of times – making something beautiful out of what one has been given.
These artworks and many more are also available in our studio’s gallery, which is open every weekday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
